Our Foundation of Commitments

At Lighthouse Wealth Management, we put in place a foundation of commitments that govern our practice. Our promises, and the belief from which each one was born, are listed here.

1. Our clients should be put first in all business decisions.

We believe that our clients should be treated as our investment partners. When faced with a decision, we’ll be guided by the belief that what matters is what’s important to our clients.

2. Clients should receive a consistent investment approach from us.

We believe in our deceptively simple investment process: Invest in quality securities and businesses when they are underappreciated by the market. We seek businesses that pay and grow their dividends, or those that offer long-term growth opportunities at a reasonable price. We believe this requires an ability to think independently and a commitment to thoughtful research that is repeatable and can be improved on over time.

3. Our clients deserve superior service from us.

We believe in the importance of highly responsive service for clients that have entrusted us with their investments.

4. We will invest our money alongside our clients.

We believe that we should invest our personal wealth in the same securities and businesses as our clients. We believe that a personal commitment to our investment strategy fosters a strong sense of accountability and ensures that our interests align with yours.

5. We will use investment results and service outcomes, not asset growth as our benchmark for achievement. 

We believe in the importance of being an investment-led and service focused advisory practice as opposed to being one that is driven by sales and marketing; we believe the difference between the two types is material. The former spends more time building wealth and meeting the needs of current clients, whereas the latter spends more time gathering new clients.

6. We will build a distinct culture of ownership and independence. 

We believe that owners and independent investment advisors make better long-term decisions. We believe that long-term thinking will enhance the long-term well being of our clients.

7. Our clients will receive open and transparent communication from us. 

We believe that informed clients make better decisions. We believe the keys of success in the wealth management industry are investment results and reputation. We believe that the bond between both is setting expectations through open and honest communication.

8. We will endeavour to keep “it” simple.

We believe that achieving superior investment results isn’t easy. We believe that aspects of the wealth management industry have become unnecessarily complex. We will endeavour to keep our guidance and our interactions with our clients as simple as we can.
